| Oil price hits record above $112 after US inventories |

| Oil prices surged to record levels above $112 a barrel after US weekly inventories data showed unexpectedly large falls crude and product stocks. Nymex May West Texas Intermediate leapt $3.65 to a record $112.15 a barrel while ICE May Brent jumped $3 to $109.34 a barrel a barrel. US crude stocks fell 3.2m barrels last week, confounding market expectations for a rise of 2.2m barrels. |

| Oil roars to record over $112 on U.S. inventory drop |

| Oil prices surged to a record high over $112 a barrel on Wednesday after a government report showed a sharp drop in U.S. inventories ahead of the summer driving season. U.S. crude rose $3.03 to $111.53 a barrel by 1819 GMT (7:19 p.m. British time) after peaking at $112.21, and eclipsing the previous record of $111.80 hit March 17.

| Russian oil production has peaked and may never return to current levels, one of the country’s top energy executives has warned, fuelling concerns that the world’s biggest oil producers cannot keep up with rampant Asian demand. The warning helped on Tuesday to push crude oil prices to a fresh all-time high above $1112 a barrel, threatening to stoke inflation in many countries. |

| Oil price hits records on supply disruptions, dollar |

| Oil futures surged to record highs on Tuesday, breaking through buy-stops as they extended gains on the back of supply disruptions and a weak dollar. US light crude for May delivery rose 59 cents to $112.35 a barrel at 12:02 a.m. EDT, after touching a high of $112.48 a barrel and surpassing its previous $112.21 a barrel record. US futures are up 17 percent from the start of the year.

| Crude oil rose to a record in New York as bad weather forced the closure of export terminals in Mexico and on rising fuel demand in China, where the economy is forecast to grow by 10 percent in the first quarter. Oil climbed to $112.48 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest since futures began trading in 1983. Mexico, the third largest shipper of crude to the US shut it. |
